Titanium diboride powder has a hexagonal (AIB2) crystal structure. It has extremely high hardness. Titanium diboride can withstand an oxidation temperature of up to 1000°C in air and is stable in HCl and HF acids. Its density can reach 4.52 g/cm³; the thermal expansion coefficient is 8.1×10⁻⁶ m/m.k; the thermal conductivity is 25 J/m.s.k; the resistivity is 14.4 μΩ.cm; titanium diboride is mainly used for the preparation of composite ceramic products. Due to its ability to resist the corrosion of molten metals, it can be used in the manufacturing of molten metal crucibles and electrode plates of electrolytic cells.
