Lanthanum metal is a silvery-white solid, brittle and hard in texture, with a melting point of 1522℃, a boiling point of 3338℃, and a density of 4.469g/mL at 25℃. It has an active chemical property, reacting slowly with cold water and accelerating in hot water. It will burn when heated above 400℃ in the air. It should be stored in a sealed container in a cool and dry place.
