Gadolinium oxide, odorless powder with a molecular weight of 362.50 g/mol. The compound is strongly paramagnetic and exhibits a wide optical band gap of 5.3 eV. Its crystal structure is cubic (bixbyite type) at room temperature.  

Gadolinium oxide, Gd2O3. White amorphous powder, hygroscopic. It readily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air. Specific gravity: 7.41. Melting point: 2,330℃.
