Our good quality Vanadium Passivator is catalytic cracking vanadium passivation of FCC (fluid catalytic cracking), for oil refinery. During the catalytic cracking process, especially when using heavy oil as the raw material, the heavy metals present in the raw oil, such as vanadium, will deposit on the catalyst surface, causing catalyst poisoning and deactivation, as well as a decrease in selectivity. This results in a reduction in the yield of light oil, an increase in hydrogen and coke production. To address the vanadium contamination of catalytic cracking catalysts, a passivator can be used to inhibit the toxic effect of vanadium in the raw materials on the catalyst.

Basic information

Tin, alkaline earth metals and rare earths react with vanadium pentoxide to form stable high-melting-point compounds, which inhibit the migration of vanadium to the zeolite phase and the formation of vanadic acid.

The complexes formed by the reaction of alkaline earth metals with weakly acidic substances act as passive vanadium components, competing with molecular sieves to capture and generate stable alkaline earth metal vanadates, which inhibits the promoting effect on the hydrolysis of molecular sieves and thereby stabilizes the structure of molecular sieves.

By using transition metal compounds to undergo lattice substitution with vanadium, the melting point of the phase is raised, and the migration of vanadium to the zeolite bulk phase is inhibited, thereby achieving the effect of suppressing vanadium pollution.

Application

1. Protect Catalyst Activity: This is the most direct objective. By inhibiting vanadium's destructive effects, the designed activity of the catalyst is maintained, ensuring unit processing capacity and conversion rates.

2. Improve Yield of Target Products:

    Increase Gasoline and LPG Yield: Protects the acid sites and shape-selectivity of the catalyst, enabling more heavy oil to crack into high-value gasoline and olefins.

    Reduce Dry Gas and Coke Yield: Minimizes non-selective cracking reactions caused by catalyst deactivation.

3. Lower Catalyst Consumption: As the catalyst deactivation rate slows down, the amount of fresh catalyst required to maintain the system's equilibrium activity is reduced, directly lowering operating costs.

4. Enhance Operational Flexibility: Enables refineries to safely process lower-quality feedstocks with higher vanadium content, thereby reducing crude oil procurement costs. This is one of its most significant economic drivers.

5. Synergy with Nickel Passivators: Many commercial passivators are "bimetallic (Ni-V) passivators" containing components such as antimony (to passivate nickel) and tin/rare earth elements (to passivate vanadium). They can simultaneously address both major catalyst poisons.
