Ferro Boron is mainly used in steel and cast iron. Used for alloy structural steel, spring steel, low alloy high strength steel, heat resistant steel, stainless steel, etc. Boron can improve toughness and wear resistance in cast iron, and is widely used in the manufacture of automobile, tractor and machine tool. Adding 0.07%B to steel can significantly improve the hardenability of steel. Boron added to stainless steel with 18%Cr and 8%Ni for treatment can cause precipitation hardening, improving high-temperature strength and hardness. Boron in cast iron can affect graphitization, thereby increasing the depth of white cast iron and making it cold, hard and wear-resistant. Adding 0.001% to 0.005% boron to malleable cast iron is beneficial for the formation of ductile iron and the improvement of its distribution. Low-aluminum and low-carbon boroiron is the main raw material for amorphous alloys
