Bismuth citrate is a bismuth compound with stable physicochemical properties, typically presenting as a white crystalline powder or crystalline solid. Its density is 0.94 g/mL at 25℃, and it has a melting point of 300℃, at which it decomposes. This substance has low solubility in water, which increases with rising temperature. It is insoluble in alcoholic solvents but soluble in ammonia solution and alkali metal citrate solution. It is relatively stable at room temperature, but may decompose at high temperatures or in strong acid environments. When using and storing, care should be taken to avoid inhaling its dust or allowing the solution to come into contact with skin and eyes. Pharmaceutical intermediates: As key raw materials for the production of gastric drugs such as bismuth potassium citrate and bismuth citrate ranitidine, the subsequently manufactured drugs can form a protective film in the stomach, assisting in the treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, and also helping to inhibit Helicobacter pylori.
