Our high purity Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide 91%min/94%min is an oxide-type inorganic compound with the chemical formula MnO2 and a relative molecular mass of 86.94. It appears as black orthorhombic crystals or brownish-black powder. It involves decomposing rhodochrosite powder with sulfuric acid to produce manganese sulfate solution, which is then refined and electrolyzed to obtain the product. The crystal structure of the product is mostly γ and ε types.

Basic information

Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide is an excellent depolarizer for batteries. Compared with dry batteries produced by natural discharge manganese dioxide, it has the characteristics of large discharge capacity, strong activity, small volume and long service life. Dry batteries made by blending 20-30%EMD have a discharge capacity that can be increased by 50-100% compared with those made entirely of natural MnO2. When 50-70%EMD is added to high-performance zinc chloride batteries, their discharge capacity can be increased by 2-3 times. For alkaline manganese batteries made entirely of EMD, their discharge capacity can be increased by 5-7 times. Therefore, electrolytic manganese dioxide has become a very important raw material in the battery industry
